As president and chief executive officer, Marty Bonick is driving transformation to improve care and elevate the patient and caregiver experience across Ardent’s 30 hospitals and nearly 200 sites of care.

With nearly 25 years of healthcare leadership experience, Mr. Bonick has held senior management roles in large tertiary and academic medical centers, multi-site systems of inpatient hospital and outpatient facilities, and physician services organizations in non-profit, public and privately held company settings.

Prior to joining Ardent in 2020, he served as CEO of PhyMed Healthcare Group, a national provider of anesthesia and pain management services; division president at Community Health Systems (NYSE: CYH), where he led operations for a $4.5 billion healthcare portfolio; CEO of Jewish Hospital and senior vice president of operations for Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s Healthcare in Louisville, Kentucky. Bonick began his healthcare career at Hillcrest HealthCare System in Tulsa, Oklahoma, which was acquired by Ardent during his tenure.

A fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, Mr. Bonick serves as chairman of the board of the Federation of American Hospitals. He also serves on the boards of the Via College of Medicine – Auburn Advisory Board, Community Health Corporation, Ensemble Health Partners, and ProUnlimited. He holds dual master’s degrees from Washington University in St. Louis in healthcare administration and information management and a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Illinois.
